June 2011Daymarc Foundation has given The Healing Garden a grant to help finish the paths and the cobblestone "wheel of life" in the center of our Sensory Garden (located behind the center, in the area cleared after the 2009 ice storm). If The Healing Garden raises $6,750, Daymarc will match these funds, which will cover the cost of finishing the hardscaping. Once this is done, we can begin planting the Sensory Garden with the many plants that people have funded. This garden was designed on the basis of the science of healing gardens; once it's completed, the organization will finally have what most people expect when they hear our name! Spring 2012With your help we hope to finally begin the second phase of the landscape plan, finally constructing the path systems in the rear and flower beds to make the space usable in our mission. Please contact us if you'd like to learn how you can help! Ripples: a self guided pond tour for healing (July 2012)In July, we are excited to announce the first self guided pond tour to benefit the Healing Garden with 100% of the proceeds going to help the Garden and its mission. The tour will consist of multiple homes in specific geographic areas, where the residents have graciously opened up their properties and their ponds and water gardens for viewing. If you'd like to volunteer for this event, please contact Janet Gansen at janet@healinggarden.net.
