Margaret Koch, BS, Executive Director, has a deep understanding and passionate commitment to the Healing Garden which stems from a long and active role as an officer on the Board of Directors. She brings great enthusiasm and expertise to implement the strategic plans for expanding The Garden to include all those affected by cancer, and those interested in learning to live well. She previously served as the Manager of Cancer Services at the Mass General Cancer Center at Emerson Hospital-Bethke, following many years in clinical trials research in the field of oncology. Brianne Carter, LICSW, MTS, Director of Wellness & Integrative Care, joins The Healing Garden bringing an expansive breadth of experience and expertise to help support our growing client community and foster the expansion of our remarkable programs and therapeutic services. Following a Masters Degree in Theology from Harvard Divinity School and a Masters in Social Work from Smith School for Social Work, Brianne worked in community mental health, Emerson Hospital, and the Mass General Cancer Center at Emerson Hospital-Bethke. photo Lana Heino Roman, Care Coordinator, is a warm and vital presence at The Healing Garden. Twice challenged by her own breast cancer diagnoses, Lana has become the key contact and liaison for our clients and therapists. Alison Peterson, BS, Business Manager, joined The Healing Garden in January 2013. For the past decade, she has been a volunteer board member for several nonprofits — including the Arlington Education Foundation and John A. Bishop Parent Teacher Organization. In 2012, she was named East Coast Region Outstanding Financial Advisor for the MIT chapter of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women. Her career spans from beginning with Ernst & Young to serving as the treasurer for four political campaigns in Massachusetts; and she is thrilled that it has ultimately brought her to work at The Healing Garden. Nanci Bishop, Director of Development, is thrilled to join The Healing Garden. She brings with her over 30 years of Business Development in the Financial Services area. She has been responsible for creating large social events, attended by several hundred, in the local area to promote businesses and celebrate community. With a deep and enthusiastic commitment to Rotary Club of Nashoba Valley which promotes service above self, she has created and hosted successful fund raisers. Rev. Sarah Maker, Intern. Sarah is delighted to be an intern at The Garden while she pursues her Masters degree in Expressive Arts Therapy at Lesley University. She earned her Masters in Divinity from Andover Newton Theological School, ordained within the United Church of Christ, and has served several different churches. She earned a C.A.S. as a spiritual director with the Silver Dove Institute. Sarah has focused on how the creative act of art-making brings healing to spirit, mind, body, and heart. Upon completion of her degree at Lesley, Sarah hopes to practice as a spiritually informed LMHC Expressive Arts Therapist, and a counseling informed spiritual director. Sarah@HealingGarden.net
